5Mercedez Benz of rice cooker
By Jayhan
Zojirushi is a premium brand and should not be compared to the $15~$20 rice cooker from Walmart. Cheap rice cookers does not produce the same quality rice as the Micom (microcomputer) fuzzy-logic model.

There's a reason why Zojirushi is expensive, and that is for the quality of the rice cooker, and the quality of rice it produces everytime it cooks. The quality and built is designed to work 24/7 and this will last for years and years (My Aunt has one of this for years and she's still using it up to now).

You can put the rice in morning, set it to cook at 6pm or 7pm, go to work, and come home with a perfect rice waiting!

PROS
- Rice is cooked perfectly
- Modern looking (stainless steel/black)
- Easy to clean
- Not bulky
- Melody/Chime when cooking starts and finished
- Timer (You can set what time do you want the rice is finished cooking)
- Rice don't get mushy/wet when left in warm mode overnight. You can have rice available all day for several days!

CONS
- White rice cooks about 1hour (but this makes the rice perfectly cooked). There's a quick cook setting that will finish in around 30-40mins, but I don't recommend it. The cook quality is comparable to a regular rice cooker when quick cook is selected.

I also bought a cheaper version of Zojirushi Zojirushi NHS-18 10-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker/Steamer & Warmer, Rice is also cooked nicely, but when you leave the rice in warm mode overnight (let's say you have leftovers and you want to eat rice in the morning), the rice is wet and mushy on the side, the middle is the only part not wet. So I returned that unit and bought this.

Me and my wife are happy with this purchase. Money well spent.

Highly recommended!

5Zojirushi with Steamer
By Kyle Robson
I bought this rice cooker because I wanted an advanced rice cooker that also had the ability to steam cook. I have used it to cook sushi rice and jasmine rice, both of which it cooked well. I have also successfully cooked fish and chicken in the steamer tray while cooking rice. I believe it only allows cooking one cup of rice while steaming. I was put off by the limit at first, but I find I only ever cook one cup of rice anyway. The cooker is not as advanced as some zojirushi cookers. It makes no distinction between rice which needs to be washed and rice that does not--some models have a special measuring cup for non-rinse rice. Regardless, I am very happy. It meets my five main criteria: makes tasty rice with ease, keeps the rice tasty for a long time on the "keep warm" setting, has a steamer tray, good size for my usage, and stylish. This one seems like a good value over the much more expensive models. I'm glad I chose this one over them. I can't imagine the bells and w histles they have (such as spherical bowls and induction pressure cooking) can really make the rice much if any better, while the steam function is lacking in them.

5Replace your simple rice cooker
By Linda Brown
The versatility of this rice cooker makes it totally worth the money to replace your simple rice cooker.
Had to try the "cheese cake" and found it a fun and surprisingly tasty dessert in its own right, even though it wouldn't be called a cheese cake in a bakery here.

I also make scotch (steel cut) oats by using the porridge setting. It is best if you put oats and water in the night before and use the delay to start cooking a couple of hours before you get up. My husband, who won't eat oatmeal, likes the taste! Don't be worried about the water sitting on top in the morning, a quick stir and 5 minutes later all of the water has soaked into the oats.

Rice is the easiest, white, brown, mixed brown with sprouted rice all come out perfect.

You won't be sorry spending the money for this rice cooker.
