Burns every time.

Bought this a few months ago as our first rice cooker. Let me preface this by saying we've experimented with all different ratios of rice to water, and have always used brown rice. It burns/browns on the bottom EVERY TIME. No matter how much water we use. I unplug it RIGHT AFTER it switches to warm, so it's not a matter of leaving it on warm for too long.

Also it bubbles up under the lid, making quite a starchy mess on the counter. We've countered that by leaving the steamer insert in the pot while it cooks, and that somewhat alleviates the problem. (Yes, we've tried rinsing/soaking the rice and adding a bit of oil, still bubbles out like mad).

The rice above the burnt layer was always nice, fluffy, and tasty - until about two weeks ago. Now all the rice is undercooked and crunchy. Burnt layer on bottom, uncooked layer on top. Ugh. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Great Rice Cooker!

I'm allergic to almost all grains! With those diet restrictions comes the need for one staple food choice, rice! It has become my substitute for bread, potatoes, pasta, etc. This T-fal Nonstick cooker makes a perfect 8-cups of delicious rice in very little time. It's easy to use. The nonstick surface is the real selling point as rice adheres to all types of cookware. Clean-up is practically nonexistent! This cooker is fail-safe and I'm very pleased with my purchase!

It is wonderful to be able to prep the rice, push the button to cook, & take care of other things. With the rice cooker, you get perfect rice every time. We are happy with our purchase.
